Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 15, 2026
Felt That (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
What We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. We use email-based magic links for authentication — we never store passwords.
- Forecast settings: Your selected conditions, trigger sensitivities, and location (zip code or city/state). This is used solely to generate your personalized forecast.
- Tool data: If you use tools like the Spoon Planner, Flare Kit, or Day Protocols while logged in, your entries are saved to your account so you can access them across devices. This data is private to you.
- Community posts: If you post in the community forum, your display name and post content are visible to other users.
- Daily check-ins: If you submit a daily check-in on the forecast page, we record your feeling, selected symptoms, location, and the weather conditions at the time.
- Recommendations: If you submit a community recommendation (“what's helping”), it is visible to other users with matching conditions.
Information We Collect Automatically
- Cookies: We use a single anonymous identifier cookie (
ft-anon) to prevent duplicate votes on community features (reactions, polls, recommendations). This cookie does not track you across other websites and contains no personal information. It is set only after you interact with a voting feature and have accepted our cookie notice. - Usage data: We do not use third-party analytics trackers. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising tracking.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide our services: Generating your personalized forecast, saving your tool data, displaying your community posts.
- To improve our models: Aggregate, anonymized check-in data may be used to improve the accuracy of our forecast models. This data is never linked to your identity.
- To prevent abuse: Community moderation to remove harmful content and prevent spam.
Research Data Program
If you opt into our research data program during forecast setup, your anonymized check-in data may be made available to qualified researchers. This means:
- Your name, email, and account information are never included in research data.
- Data is linked only to a random identifier, your selected condition(s), and a general geographic region — never your exact location.
- Researchers must provide institutional affiliation, IRB approval (or equivalent), and agree that data will not be re-sold, used to identify individuals, or used for insurance underwriting.
- You can opt out of the research program at any time. Opting out stops future data sharing but does not retroactively remove already exported anonymized data, as it cannot be linked back to you.
What We Do NOT Do
- We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever.
- We do not share your personal data with advertisers or ad networks.
- We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
- We do not share your identity with researchers under any circumstances.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secured servers. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and follow industry-standard security practices. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Tool data saved only to your browser (localStorage) stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers unless you are logged into an account.
Data Retention
- Account data: Retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
- Check-in data: Retained indefinitely for model improvement. Anonymized research exports cannot be recalled.
- Community posts: Retained as long as the post exists. You can delete your own posts.
- Cookies: The
ft-anoncookie expires after 1 year.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update or correct your personal information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data. Contact us at the email below.
- Opt out: Opt out of the research data program at any time through your account settings.
- Cookie control: You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know what data we collect and the right to request deletion.
Children's Privacy
Felt That is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
