What We Collect

Every day, Felt That community members check in with how they're feeling — and we capture the weather conditions at that exact moment. Over time, this creates something that barely exists in formal research: a large-scale, continuous, condition-specific dataset correlating real weather with real symptoms reported by real people.

Each anonymous record includes: condition type, self-reported weather sensitivity profile, geographic region (not exact address), date (month/year only), actual weather conditions, and self-reported symptoms and feeling.

How We Protect Your Privacy

Your name, email, and exact location are never included in any research export. Location is generalized to state and metro area. Dates are generalized to month and year. Any condition with fewer than 20 opted-in users in a given region is excluded entirely.

If you opt out, your records are excluded from all future exports — retroactively. You can toggle your participation anytime in your profile settings.

For Researchers

If you're a researcher interested in accessing anonymized community check-in data, we review applications on a rolling basis. We require institutional affiliation, IRB approval (or equivalent), and agreement that data will not be re-sold, used to identify individuals, or used for insurance underwriting.

Community First

Before any external researcher touches the data, we publish our own insights on the site. This gives the community immediate value and establishes credibility. When published research uses Felt That data, we'll link to it here — closing the loop so you can see that your daily check-in tap actually contributed to something bigger.

Your experience matters.

Every check-in helps build a dataset that could change how the medical community understands weather and chronic illness. You can opt in during your forecast setup or anytime in your settings.
